This phrase is used far too often as an excuse not to do something, reply to messages or just as a fob off. Yet, the busiest people always seem to have time for people. They are some great stories about well known entrepreneurs, running several businesses, who always seem to have 5 minutes for people if needed throughout the day.
Sure, it can’t be all the time and not everyone can be relevant, but offering someone your time, even a few minutes, is the most precious thing you can give.
So if we are always too busy, perhaps we need to consider if we are overworked or can’t manage our time well enough?
Almost everybody in business is switched on and has access to instant communication tools. People will always do what they perceive to be important or in their immediate interest and manage their time accordingly.
However, should we stop using this phrase as an excuse and be more honest with those that we communicate with?
Ultimately, if you are always too busy then you will miss opportunities…
